Type Study

This is a two-piece poster set for the font Univers. The first page is decorative and features different weights and characters of the font. The second page includes historical information about who created the font and what it was used for.

 

The design plays into the name and features the capital and lowercase characters in an ellipse. The O's and zeros are enlarged to give the illusion of planets in orbit. I chose black as the background color because outer space is a vacuum sucking away all light. White was chosen as the main accent to represent the stars that glow inside all of the darkness. The secondary accent of red was chosen because it is the next most recognizable color found in our solar system (Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter's spot).
